Why not do a simple google search on "greece immigration laws" ?

Visa is not required for USA citizens, but if you plan to work then work permit will be in order. If you plan, as you say, to buy a business here , then the lawyer who will undertake the legal part of the whole transaction can also arrange to apply for the permit too.

Working in the Construction Industry in Greece

Working in the Construction Industry in Greece?
I have a friend who is finding it difficult to obtain a work Visa for Greece to work in the construction Industry. Can someone please let me know that if his Fathers parents are Italian and he has family in Italy does this make things easier for him to obtain a working Visa? Apparently they issue only around 2000amount, and all to the senior guys who the Greeks feel will grow the Greek economy and who cannot be found within Greece/Europe. Any information is helpful! Thanks He was born in Australia and is based in Australia still at this time.

You do not state his current citizenship. That i s what counts to start with. If you mean as a labouring hand then it can be a little difficult on account that many of the foreigners that came to Greece as economic refugees are working on that field. As a certified contraction mechanic , engineer or architect he has to undergo examinations so that his diploma can be recognised and then he has to join the Engineers Guild to be fully accepted. In an already great abundance of both proffesionals it is not easy to obtain work but not difficult to get in as an illegal worker. You have to give more information on what exactly you are looking and surely are people here of that particular field that they can give you all the details. To get recognised as a EU citizen he has to see at the Italian embassy with proof of his lineage and family relations. Although that is not absolute proof it will certainly help.

Does an unlocked U.S. Blackberry Pearl work with Greek carriers

Does an unlocked U.S. Blackberry Pearl work with Greek carriers?
I recently bought a T-Mobile Blackberry Pearl. And I want to know if it would work in Greece, if unlocked. Would it work if I unlocked it and then put in a Vodafone/Cosmote/WIND SIM card?

no it does not

There is a possibility that it might work, since Cosmote and Wind Greece carry the Pearl. But there might be a problem if you want to access the Internet and send MMS messages. Well good luck.

How many months is a woman in Greece allowed to get off from work after she gives birth?
My mom told me that when a woman gives birth, she gets paid 8 months without working, but she is Greek American. So is this true?

http://www.cepr.net/documents/publications/parental_2008_09.pdf Paid maternity leave in Greece, according to that article at least, is around 34 weeks. I don't see what her being Greek American has to do with it though. Unless she's working in America. In which case, she won't get anywhere near that amount of time.

Forget the law. My cousin was pregnant, she saw 4 months of salary when she gave birth. It's nothing like North America.
3 :
Some laws about maternity : •You can't be fired while you are pregnant •You have the right to change shift if you are working night shifts, to day-shifts.If this is impossible (for techical reason), you can't stop working (without being fired i mean) •You can't work, if you have to visit your doctor, for pre-birth exams •Your maternity get-off is at-least 17 weeks. •For 30 months months, after you give birth, (counting for the day you return to job, after giving birth) you can decide on of those -Leave 1 hour earlier each day -Leave 2 hours aerlier each day for 1 year, and 1 hour earlier for 6 months. (same applies for adopted parents of a kid, till 6 y.o) Dimosio: • 5 months off (two before and 3 after) giving birth (full-payment) •You can also take a special vacation, if you are exhausted, after doctors perscription about it. •2 less working hours per day for kids up to 2, and 1 less hour for kids 2 to 4.
