If you’re only looking for job listings in Greece read this carefully, you will find it very useful ~ http://americaninathens.wordpress.com/2007/07/03/common-suggestions-for-americans-other-non-eu-citizens-seeking-jobs-in-greece/

Thats funny. I'm in the reverse position, an employer looking for workers. But only one I'm afraid. If you go out early to the island of your choice, like May, you can usually just ask around, just canvass the businesses because word spreads fast. Or you can post adds on the newspapers of the islands, which becomes more difficult the bigger the island I guess. I know that I have seen a few employers from Greek islands on www.gumtree.com if you want to post there. But if you are interested in working in Symi, a small island just off Rhodes that has festivals throught the high season, send me a message, but as I said, I only have one position and otherwise you'd have to check out www.symivisitor.com :)

This is an article called Getting a summer job in Greece. Very accurate and true, written by someone who has done it and knows several people who were successful. http://americaninathens.wordpress.com/2007/05/15/getting-a-summer-job-in-greece/ It should be mentioned that if you are a non-EU citizen, it is understood you will be working illegally since securing a work visa is a lengthy and difficult process that employers are not willing to do for casual work. Fines and penalties are in effect, and police are stricter today than 10 years ago. Also, as the first person posted, she has a lot of links to job sites in the third column.

I am an x-ray tech looking for work in GREECE, what are the possibilities?
I am half greek- american, know half the language, been there a few times. Just looking to see if moving there and working is worth it or not. What do they pay x-ray techs in hospitals in Greek major cities?

First step would be to get your degree recognised by the Greek authorities. This is done by an agency called DOATAP (www.doatap.gr). They are remarkably inefficient, even by the standards of Greek bureaucracy, so you should expect this process to last as much as a year. The major employer for health-care professionals is the government, as most hospitals are state-run. However, these jobs are reserved for Greek citizens or EU nationals. You might find a job in a private hospital or clinic, but these are few and it might not be easy to find one recruiting. Pay, insurance and job security vary greatly in the private sector, but are rarely great. In terms of pay, I believe that around 15,000 Euros *net* p.a. would be a realistic estimate for an entry-level professional. Between a quarter and a third of this would be deducted for social security and taxes. The remaining sum is adequate if you're in one of the smaller towns, but I'm not sure you'd manage to sustain a good standard of living in Athens.

Looking for work in Greece April 2009. Could anyone suggest a good place to look?
It would have to be just the month of April. I would very much prefer the work was labor intensive, not office work. Also if room/board were included that would be more essential than being paid. I speak enough Greek to get buy, but am fluent only in English. Please take this into consideration. Thank you.
