I am very serious and honest, I can work very hard, no problem. I know that Greeks are very kind people, very smart country, maybe you can help me. I am read to do construction works, or restaurants,or security guard work, or even cleaning the streets, I can do anything, no problem ! Please give me advice , how can I get visa and documents to work in Greece? I know there are not a lot of foreigners in your country, and I think you can host me, and I will be very hard worker! And I am single too ! Please help me please !

Dear, you are not well informed... Greece has a big problem with immigration, there are so many immigrants nowdays that they are unable to find any kind of work ...
2 :
Actually you are wrong : There are a lot of foreigners in Greece. About 1mill in 10mill local population... that is 10%! To get a green card nowadays is rather hard and takes a lot of time. Especially now that Bulgaria and Romania joined EU, a lot of workers came from there, so most of the work you are willing to do is covered. I would advise you to stay put in France and see what happens... Politicians tend to forget what they have promised very soon ....

I think that you should ask the Greek embassy. They should know the steps you could take. But unfortunately what I know is that all people who come here have many difficulties in getting a green card. I really hope that everything works out for you the way you want it!

I would agree with Edoardo and Kimon... Because the problem with the immigrants is big here, those who came from ex comunist countries are so many, and the salary dont think that it is going to be high...and at the beginning maybe without insurance...For your own good, it is better to stay where you are..

On the islands - nothing. The land and the sea can support down to earth life without any great difficulties. Even the tobacco and the alcohol can be home-made. And in the cities? Lots! For more than 30 % of the population, life in the cities did become an every day struggle to learn - how to live with 200 euro per week when at least 300 euro p/w is needed. PS. If you like to live in the Ghettos together with poor Albanians and black refugees, than yes - the Air-hole estimates will be correct.
2 :
A modest apartment in a non expensive neighborhood will be about 350 €. Electricity, phone and water supply should be another 100-150 €. Food will be about 20 € per day. Other expenses another 200€ ? Since you are coming with a working permit it means that you have already found a job and most likely it must be highly paid in some special field. That in turn means that you can afford the above expenses. If that is not the case, then good luck to you.
3 :
the prices that Airpole gave are almost true with 350 in a downgraded area you can also find a big house, with that amount you can find in a mediocre area a 1bedroom apartment. In the rent money you got to add at least 50 euros for condo fees (during summer) and that price goes up during winter for heating too(that price depends from the price of petrolium and it's not fixed). 20 euros per day for food is reasonable if you eat out every day, if you eat at home that price goes down extremely much. If you will use a car, have in mind that you will need about 50-60 euros every week for gas.
4 :
It depends on the place. But in general i would say Food:7-10 euros per day,if you choose to cook or eating cheap food. Accommodation:From 300-350 euro in a decent but not expensive area + 100 euros for water, phone, electricity etc. Other expenditures:From 70 euros per month. Total:Around 700 euros.

Why would Greece work any harder or start longer workdays since the EU will bail them out

Why would Greece work any harder or start longer workdays since the EU will bail them out?
To give another example, suppose in a classroom setting all the grades get averaged. Those who earned an F are given C's, and those who earned A's are given C's, why would the A's keep working as hard as they do to carry the lazier part of class? Inevitably the A's would start earning lower grades until the class average was an F, as no real individual achievement is in any way useful. So my question is: why would Greece be any different?

The Greeks will moan and riot and complain like spoiled children, but it will be hard to get them to change. They are used to sucking teat.
2 :
Greece will survive, as they have for thousands of years. You think thats bad, imagine if Persia was still attacking them. They survived hundreds of wars, they will survive a recession. This argument is like a kid arguing with his grandfather.
3 :
The problem in Greece is a lot more complex and difficult than that. And it threatens the entire Eurozone. If the Europeans want to save the Euro, they have to bail out Greece. Something that makes the Germans pretty damn mad, LOL.
4 :
Greeks are lazy socialists who want the government to take care of them. The democrats in America are the same way.
5 :
EXACTLY. This is the lesson I'm teaching my two boys. Using the same classroom example you cite. Good work.
6 :
Damned socialist greeks. Invented democracy, yet forgot how to use it. There is a reason that place hasn't done anything noteworthy since antiquity.
7 :
From what I have read the Communist Party of Greece is behind the riots and such. Greek Communist Party website: http://inter.kke.gr/ As a sign at a recent T.E.A. Party I went to said: Hey Greece thanks for the heads up! It won't be any different the people got too fat and sassy suckling off the government teat and now that they are addicted they feel entitled to continue making more money to push papers for the government than someone working for a private sector business does. This is Obama's vision for America, wake up America before we are Greece v2.0 I find it interesting that Spain is telling Obama, don't copy us with the whole green male cow excrement, because it will bankrupt America. Does he seem to care? No.

Because the EU bailout has strings attached. It's conditional on the government making stringent measures to deal with their deficit, which will entail more man hours for less money from the population at large. If the government fails to meet the requirements, then the creditors can pull the plug and Greece goes bankrupt. However, nobody in their right mind wants that. Edit: LOL at those who blame it on socialism! Its nothing to do with that - the endemic problem is equally the cause of a long sequence of left and right governments (PASOK and New Democracy) who ALL failed to address problems of corruption, tax evasion, and of failing to grow the economy with earlier EU funds. This has NOTHING to do with any political ideology. The banking crisis and Goldman Sachs playing the market has arguably had as much effect on their economic problems.
9 :
Bailing out sb doesn't mean that you give him money as a gift. It's a loan and in Greece's case a loan with a high interest rate (5%-6%).Quite a bargain...

when washing them clothes make sure that you wash them with only themselves! when washing them get your washer full of warm water (or how it says on the tag) then put in your regular detergent with oxy clean and another help full hint is if you have colors that bleed on to the whites or vise versa use a dryer sheet in the washer it helps out alot! I hope that this works out for ya! I know that it does for me! Or you can just try what everyone says is to just pre treat it I guess but it's all up to you!
