I have a friend who is finding it difficult to obtain a work Visa for Greece to work in the construction Industry. Can someone please let me know that if his Fathers parents are Italian and he has family in Italy does this make things easier for him to obtain a working Visa? Apparently they issue only around 2000amount, and all to the senior guys who the Greeks feel will grow the Greek economy and who cannot be found within Greece/Europe. Any information is helpful! Thanks He was born in Australia and is based in Australia still at this time.

You do not state his current citizenship. That i s what counts to start with. If you mean as a labouring hand then it can be a little difficult on account that many of the foreigners that came to Greece as economic refugees are working on that field. As a certified contraction mechanic , engineer or architect he has to undergo examinations so that his diploma can be recognised and then he has to join the Engineers Guild to be fully accepted. In an already great abundance of both proffesionals it is not easy to obtain work but not difficult to get in as an illegal worker. You have to give more information on what exactly you are looking and surely are people here of that particular field that they can give you all the details. To get recognised as a EU citizen he has to see at the Italian embassy with proof of his lineage and family relations. Although that is not absolute proof it will certainly help.
