NHS letter for when travelling to Greece

NHS letter for when travelling to Greece?
I am currently on holiday in Greece - I am Greek-, but I live and work in the UK. Is there a letter that I can take from the NHS, to show to the Greek hospital, that will enable me not to pay hospital and doctor charges in Greece? I don't work in Greece and therefore I don't have health insurance. I had to go to the hospital a few days ago and had to pay full price for everything, but since Greece is in the EC, there must be a way that I can get hospital treatment free/cheap, since I pay UK taxes. thank you.

No this does not matter if you are out of the country then you are not entitled to free health care as you are in the UK. You should have sorted out some travel insurance before you left. There was a run of adverts on the TV making people aware of the fact you will not be treated for free in other countries. Travel insurance covers you for hospital fees, damage caused to the hotel in regards to flood/fire/or other acts of god, it also allows you to get help if you become stranded. (dependent on policy)
